Speed, power, and the roar of cars as they jockey for position—any car race is a thrilling proposition, both for the racers and the fans in the stands. But behind the scenes there are plenty of logistics to tackle, from safety testing at the track to getting your car to the race at all.
That’s where Good Trailers can be a huge help, as Jeremy Allegre found this August as he tackled his first race at Evergreen Speedway.
In spite of this race being his first, Allegre is no stranger to the sport. He knew exactly what he needed before he began.
“I’ve grown up with racing,” he said. “Family members on my Mom’s side raced, so I’ve been coming out to Evergreen Speedway since I was little. Once I started making friends at the track, I was out there almost every week in the summer.”
Evergreen is located in Monroe, WA, and is the only NASCAR track in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to NASCAR races, they host Legend Car races, Formula Drift events, AutoX races.
Allegre wanted to race from the moment he saw the track, but it wasn’t until he was an adult that he was ultimately able to procure his first Legend Car. “I spent about two years figuring it out, setting it out, and making sure it was all ready for the track!”
He also spent time realizing how difficult it was to load and unload his car onto a standard trailer, which he’d done for about a year as he headed out to go practice, or hit the road to take his Legend around to various car shows.
“I had to have someone push down the front of my trailer so we could easily roll the car and then maneuver inside. That was a pain.”
So, a few weeks before the race, he procured a 19-foot GT19FL from Good Manufacturing to help him get his car to and from the track.
A Good Trailer was the game changer.
“I just pushed a few buttons and the trailer was on the ground. I folded down the ramp and rolled the car right onto the deck. Got it right where I wanted it.”
This meant Allegre didn’t have to exhaust himself once he got to the track either, or deal with a tiring loading process after the race was done. “When it was time to go home, I parked the car right in front of the trailer, got out, and pushed it inside. I honestly could have driven it right onto the trailer. It was nice!”
Allegre wasn’t the only racer at Evergreen that night who needed a better trailer solution. A Focus Midget driver happened to notice the GT19FL as well, and immediately understood the value of the hydraulic drop deck system.
“Really you could fit a wide variety of racing vehicles onto this trailer,” Allegre noted. “Spec Miatas, Focus Midgets, and multiple Go Karts could all fit with ease. Some race cars pretty light, so the weight isn’t even a challenge. It’s the width you have to watch, and some race cars are narrow enough to fit right onto the deck with no problem at all.”
As for the race itself, it went well.
“I was very nervous about it! Luckily, we were so busy getting ready I really didn’t have time to think about how nervous I was. By the time I had time, I was on the track.”
While Allegre didn’t win the race, he had fun. He’s looking forward to the next one!”
